Penguin Plays Rough (PPR) is a monthly short fiction live reading night held in a Sydney warehouse, where imaginatively wild, original writers, are invited to read to an audience. The anthology is a collection of 23 of these stories. The approach was to capture the energy of these readings, rather than in a static, ordinary format. To bring PPR’s raw energy and life into the book, we designed each story in a different way, using different materials each time, on and off the computer, embracing the craft of the process, creating a vivid,
noisy catalogue of these wonderfully wild stories.
